God's pint of milk Puzzle

In the early days of my repentance to G-d I very rarely spent money on myself, for various reasons but partly thinking it was somehow sinful and robbing G-d, but one day, He did something special and taught me a lesson at the same time.

There was an opportunity to buy a yoghurt maker at a bargain price and I really wanted one so I prayed and asked the L-rd what to do as I believed that every penny I earned really belonged to Him. I went ahead and bought it and then took my purchase home. After reading the instructions I found that a certain type of milk was required to make the yoghurt (a tall, thin, metal topped bottle containing sterilised milk). Even though I still felt a bit guilty I was keen to get started and so washed all the little glasses ready but could not purchase the milk until the next day.

In those days the milk was delivered to the door by a regular order and paid weekly. We never ordered the tall slim bottle, only the short fat bottle with a silver paper top. My idea was to catch the milk man and buy an extra pint but I was too late. When I opened the front door the next morning, there was the usual milk order and, to my amazement, on the other side of the porch, on a different step was, a tall thin bottle of milk with a metal top. Wow!! How did G-d do it?

Grabbing the milk, I rushed into the kitchen, got down on my knees and gave joyful thanks. A small but wonderful gift from the L-rd. To me, this was confirmation and something that Father G-d did to indulge one of his children. This action of G-d taught me:

To remain faithful in prayer, sharing my intimate thoughts with G-d.
To depend on Him to do things I can't do for myself.
That He really enjoys sharing the little things in life.
He gives us the desires of our hearts.
That others try to bring G-d's works to no account.

When I tried to pay the milk man the following weekend, he denied leaving the extra pint. He said his books tallied, there were no complaints and he had no idea how it got there.

Other people said it was a puzzle, but that I must have mentioned it to someone else who went out and bought a bottle somehow and put it there for me to find!! Someone said, the milk man was lying and was too embarrassed to admit making a mistake. Someone else suggested I was lying, or had forgotten what really happened.

Well what happened was not a puzzle. G-d does not send his beloved puzzles. What happened was that G-d put the milk bottle there using whatever means He chose because He wanted to, for whatever purpose He had then.

Amen. Alleluia. Our G-d reigns and no-one can stop HIM!!!!!!

James 1:5-6
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. NIV
