Sharon's Testimonies

God's Provision

Whilst living and working in Cairo we were constantly in prayer for our needs. No, I don't mean Stafford and I were always asking God for our own material needs as in fact we received a generous allowance from the Kirk (Church of Scotland). What I mean is the Centre where I worked was a non profit making institution and there was not enough money to purchase uniforms for the carers and nurses.

On this occasion, the carers had come to me whilst I was working in one of the rooms and complained that the uniforms they had were too worn, too tight, stained etc. they needed to share and sometimes there weren't enough to go round.

"Well," said I thinking out loud:
"What shall we do? There is not enough money to buy them. We will just have to ask Jesus for some."

There was a group of six or seven young women, one or two of them laughed a little as they weren't used to this, but the rest knew I was serious and gathered round. I asked Jesus to help us to pray and quickly several of them prayed one after the other simply asking God for new uniforms and giving Him thanks and praise.

When we had finished I asked a question: "Do you think we will get them?"
There was a moment's silence and then Eman (whose name means 'faith') said seriously pointing her finger at the floor in the middle of the group:

"If the Lord was in this room, we will."

Some of the others nodded. I had to ask:

"Do you think the Lord was in this room?"

Only one person wasn't sure, the rest agreed readily.

What do you think? Do you think the Lord was in the room? I do, because you will never guess what happened the next day. A crate of nurses' uniforms arrived from Scotland - enough for everyone. Alleluia!!!!

Next time you meet for prayer, believe this Scripture from Matt 18:19-20:
19 Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." NKJV

NOTE - The Hamseen (Fifty) is a period of 50 days in the Spring when dust storms occur.
