God's Protection
Ps 34:7-8
"7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!" NAS
How wonderful to assured of God's protection in these days. In fact the whole of Psalm 34 is worth looking at today.
There were many amazing answers to prayer when we lived in Egypt and evidence of God's protection.
During the Hamseen a few years ago, one day there was a storm, and Isaac and Roy were the only ones sitting in the reception area. Isaac was working behind the counter and Roy on a chair to one side, when Roy spotted the Director walking into the foyer. He got up quickly and walked towards him, afraid lest he was thought lazy.
The Director, explained later that he had no reason to walk into the foyer and didn't know why he did so. At the same time the phone rang and Isaac, a prayerful young man (who later became a pastor), reached out his hand to answer the phone. As he did so he heard a voice behind him saying: "Move quickly!" He then jumped over the counter and ran, at the very instant the storm exploded the huge floor to ceiling window, sending huge shards of glass rapidly into the reception area.
Other people eating lunch in the next room witnessed the scene and they rushed through to see the damage. They said it had been just like an explosion, like a bomb. If Isaac had continued with the phone call he might not have been alive to tell the tale. Everyone there joined hands to pray, giving the Lord thanks for His protection and then they asked that the storm be abated quickly and do no more damage. Immediately the prayer was uttered, the wind stopped, the storm ceased and the Hamseen was over for another year.
Thank the Lord for his ongoing protection.
NOTE - The Hamseen (Fifty) is a period of 50 days in the Spring when dust storms occur.
